Unique DIY Wreaths for Your Home this Holiday Season

A DIY Christmas Wreath Made from WinecorksA do-it-yourself wreath project can quickly turn things around for your Tarpon Springs home, giving it that make-over it deserves. With wreaths, you can easily trim a door, wall, window, or really any other part of your home. Store-bought wreaths are usually quite expensive, though. And, they might not be the kind that suits your taste. If you want something more suited to your style, why not go for DIY wreaths this season?

Bicycle wheel. Upcycle an old bicycle wheel into a wreath full of vintage fun. Simply twine real or fake evergreen boughs around the rim, then wrap it in a festive red rope or ribbon. If all you’ve got are a few bright bows, that would be enough to make your entryway or door more interesting.

Peanut wreath. For a touch of the unconventional, why not create a wreath out of unshelled peanuts? Taking peanuts in their shells, glue them to a foam wreath form. Then, take a burlap ribbon and tie it around the wreath like a bow.

Cookie cutters. Baking cookies is a holiday thing, right? So, why not make a wreath that celebrates this season? Start by gluing decorative paper to the back of several cookie cutters. Then, glue the cookie cutters into a circular shape. Finally, you can wrap the whole thing with a pretty ribbon and hang it anywhere in your home for good old holiday vibes.

Wine corks. Do you enjoy saving wine bottle corks? If so, you can put them to good use by turning them into a wreath Using a straw or twig wreath form, simply glue your corks in concentric circles to cover. You can then use floral wire to fasten sprigs of evergreen and bright holly berries to finalize the look.

Sheet music. If your holiday is not complete without music, then you can make the musical side of you evident through your wreath. Taking a couple of torn sheets of music, you can twist or curl them, and then glue them together in a circular shape. Add some colorful paper rosettes to the inner ring to craft the perfect musical decoration for your home.

PVC pipe. Not just for plumbing, PVC pipe can be used to make a unique wreath for your home! Simply cut different sizes of PVC pipe into thin sections, then glue them together (with open sides facing outward) into a circular arrangement. After spray painting the pipe a pretty gold or another color, fill the openings of the pipes with colorful ornaments for a festive decoration.

Socks. Is your laundry room riddled with old or single socks? If your plan is to throw them out, why not try making them into a wreath first? Making use of embroidery hoops, trace a wreath onto a foam core. After, cut out the form. Using glue, stick and wrap the form with your socks. Then, fit the whole thing back inside the embroidery hoops and decorate.

Ties. Do you know someone who owns way too many neckties? If so, you can use a few of those ties to make a wreath. Make use of a foam wreath form to wrap and pin your neckties onto, in any manner you choose! Then, glue those loose ends to the back of the foam to hold them in place. After, all you’ll need are some leftover fabric to make a bow to complete the holiday wreath that’s dressed to impress.
